A Silver Spoon Sweet, Sweet Galaxy

21st Mar 2011

Recently Silver Spoon donated 700kg of Silver Spoon Caster Sugar to be used in an art exhibition called ‘Sweet, Sweet Galaxy’. The sugary universe was displayed in Smiths Row, an art gallery in Bury St Edmunds which is the area in which Silver Spoon sugar is made.

Our Caster Sugar was coloured and added to the display along with sweets, glitter, beads, tiny toys and origami. This psychedelic world was made by Australian artists Tanya Schultz and Nicole Andrijevic, more commonly known as Pip and Pop.

“Originally we used sugar because, being in a kitchen, it was something that’s everywhere. But sugar was so central to this paradise world with the notions of sweetness and making us happy.” Ms Andrijevic said.

The display was simply magical, and Silver Spoon was glad to have helped make something so colourful, joyful, and so sweet!
